Nitriles We Have Studied

These are the nitriles that we studied (spectroscopically) under conditions germane to astrophysics. The infrared spectra of some of these nitriles very greatly depending on the conditions. Each of these were isolated in an argon matrix and frozen into water at 10 K. By doing this we will be able to securely identify nitriles in the interstellar medium, and learn about the nature of the intermolecular interactions between nitriles and water.
